QRWise scans and generates QR codes and barcodes. This page covers what we collect, what stays on your device, and your rights — wherever in the world you're using the app from.
Camera. We use your camera to scan codes. The image feed is processed on-device using Google's ML Kit and never leaves your phone. We don't record, store, or transmit it.
Scan and generation history. Every code you scan or create is saved in a local database on your device. We don't run a server that receives a copy. Clear it anytime from the History screen, or by clearing app data in your phone's settings. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Ads (Google AdMob). On the free version, AdMob shows banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. It reads your Advertising ID and checks your network connection to do that. That data goes to Google, not to us. If you're in the EU, UK, or another region where Google requires it, you'll see a consent prompt the first time you open the app, and you can change your choice later.
Purchases (Google Play Billing). Google handles the transaction end to end. We're told a purchase succeeded so we can unlock Premium — nothing about your card or billing address reaches us.
AdMob and Google Play Billing are Google products, so data they collect can be processed on Google's servers outside your own country, including in the United States. Google covers these transfers under its own data protection agreements, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We don't run our own servers, so we don't move anything beyond what Google's SDKs already handle.

We don't request location, contacts, storage, microphone, or SMS permissions. If that changes in a future update, we'll disclose it here before the update ships.
You can ask us what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used. In practice, we hold none of this ourselves — your history lives on your device, and ad or billing data sits with Google. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You can ask what categories of personal information we've collected in the past 12 months (listed above), request deletion, and opt out of the sharing of your Advertising ID for personalized ads — either through your device's ad settings or by emailing us. We don't sell personal information for money.
Email us and we'll do our best to honor the same kind of request — access, deletion, or a straight answer about what we hold — regardless of where you're located.
Your scan history lives on your device, not ours, so its safety depends a good deal on your device's own security — screen lock, OS updates, and so on. Keep your phone updated.
QRWise isn't directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we'll address it.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, flag it in the app.
