Hydrocue ("the App," "we," "our") explains below exactly what information it collects, how it's used, and — where applicable — what is shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
1. Summary
Hydrocue does not require an account or sign-in. Most of your data — your onboarding details, reminder schedule, and water intake logs — is stored only on your device. The App now uses Google AdMob to display advertisements; AdMob collects certain device and advertising identifiers as described in Section 4 below. Aside from AdMob's advertising data, no other data is transmitted off your device.

None of the information in this table is uploaded, synced, or shared with any third party, including the AdMob advertising SDK described below. Uninstalling the App or clearing its local data permanently deletes all of it.
3. Permissions Used and Why

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Hydrocue displays advertisements through Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google. To show relevant ads and measure their performance, AdMob may collect and process:
- Advertising identifier (e.g. Android Advertising ID)
- Device information (device model, operating system version, general device settings)
- Approximate location (derived from IP address, not precise GPS location)
- App interaction data related to ads (impressions, clicks)
This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Google's EU User Consent Policy. Hydrocue itself does not access, view, or store this advertising data — it is collected and used directly by Google's AdMob SDK running inside the App.
Depending on your region, you may be presented with a consent request governing ad personalization the first time you open the App, in compliance with applicable privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, UK GDPR). You can typically manage ad personalization settings through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads, on most Android devices).
5. What Hydrocue Does Not Do
- No account creation or sign-in required
- No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs beyond AdMob's advertising functionality described above
- No precise GPS location access
- No sharing of your locally stored profile, health, or log data with any third party
- No voice recording or microphone access — reminders are text notifications only
6. Children's Privacy
Hydrocue is not directed at children. In accordance with Google Play's Families Policy and applicable regulations (e.g. COPPA), the App's advertising is not configured to target child audiences, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
All locally stored data (Section 2) remains on your device indefinitely until you delete it — by removing individual logs, clearing the App's data through your device's system settings, or uninstalling the App. This deletion is immediate and permanent, as there is no remote copy. Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is governed by Google's own retention practices, described in their Privacy Policy linked above.
8. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised if the App's features or data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision.
